Micro granulated cork stoppers

Following the strategy of continuous innovation and development that is part of Amorim Cork’s DNA, the state-of-the-art Xpür® and Qork® micro-granulated stoppers were launched.
Ideal for preserving the wine’s freshness and intrinsic quality over time, Xpür® and Qork® facilitate extraction and offer the highest percentage of cork of all micro-granulated stoppers: 98% cork (by volume) or 82% (by weight), with no need to use microspheres.
This controlled chemical load guarantees a higher sensorial neutrality and a more positive wine evolution in bottle.
Delivering non-detectable TCA performance*, while keeping cork’s physical mechanical features intact, these stoppers boast the best CO2 balance of any micro-granulated stopper.
Functional, accessible and with impeccable sustainability credentials, Xpür® and Qork® bring perfect consistency and maximum quality
- Ensure any dust its removed before corking.
- Ensure the cork is compressed smoothly, to a diameter no less than 15,5 mm.
- Ensure insertion of the cork is a quick as possible.
- For standard bottlenecks, the cork should be inserted to 1 mm below the top of the neck.
- Minimise moisture on the inside of the bottleneck.
- Headspace should be at least 15 mm at 20oC.
- Don’t leave the cork stoppers in the feeder as to avoid dust.
- Always use stoppers with a surface treatment suitable for the type of beverage, bottling process and selected bottle.
- A vacuum must be created in order to prevent internal pressures.
